What is the luminous flux maintenance?

Luminous flux maintenance represents the lifetime and life expectancy of LEDs.

Over time, the initial luminous flux of LEDs gradually decreases to zero. Usually, the life expectancy of an LED is a very long period.

Luminous flux maintenance: Led lamp life

Life expectancy of an LED lamp indicates the percentage of luminous flux decay. This parameter is identified with the letter 'L' and it is combined with the useful operating hours.

Example: 50,000 L80

At 50,000 hours of operation, the LED still has 80% of its initial luminous flux.

Luminous flux maintenance: life expectancy of led lamps

The parameter 'B' followed by a value between 10 and 50, indicates the percentage of components that do not maintain the declared luminous flux characteristics after the useful operating hours have been reached.

If no B-value is stated in the characteristics of the LED luminaire, the value to be considered is B50.

Example:

50,000 L80 B50

After 50,000 operating hours, 50% of the LED modules still have 80% of their initial luminous flux.

50,000 L85 B10

After 50,000 operating hours, 90% of the LED modules still have 85% of the initial luminous flux.

Luminous flux maintenance: palazzoli luminaires

Palazzoli's META150 aluminium alloy pendant luminaires have the following lifetime and life expectancy:

L90 B10 230,000 h

After 230,000 hours of operation, 90% of the LED modules still have 90% of their initial luminous flux.
